- On or about 19-Feb-96 09:11:36 Kevin Hisel typed the following words about
- "A3000/Zip Drive/A2386SX". My reply is thus...

- KH> Got the Zip and it's a pip! Got it working nicely with CrossDos (gosh, su
- KH> glad I paid for it) and everything seems very happy now that I have my ar

- KH> CrossDos hard-drive names have to end in C (first partition) or D (second
- KH> partition), etc. That was a real brain-teaser up 'til that point.
-
- I know this is supposed to be true (end in C), but it does work without that.
- I wonder if you only need to do this if you are using the drive with PC-Task
- or trying to access a drive hooked up to an Amiga from a BridgeBoard? Here is
- my mountlist for an MS-DOS ZIP disk.
-
- PZ0:
- Surfaces = 1
- BlocksPerTrack = 68
- Lowcyl = 0
- Highcyl = 2890
- BufMemType = 5
- Blocksize = 512
- Device = HardFrame.device
- Unit = 5
- Flags = 0x00000000
- Mask = 0xFFFFFFFE
- Maxtransfer = 0x7FFFFFFF
- Reserved = 0
- Filesystem = L:CrossDOSFileSystem
- Stacksize = 2000
- Priority = 5
- Bootpri = -20
- Globvec = -1
- Buffers = 5
- Dostype = 0x4d534800
- Mount = 1

- Notice the drive is called PZ0:. It reads the MS-DOS ZIP Tools disk that comes
- with the drive just fine.
-
- KH> But here's the only really goofy thing I'm experiencing now. Janus refuse
- KH> load on the Bridgeboard if the Zip is powered up. If I unplug the Zip bri

- KH> popping the plug from the side of the Zip no workee. You have to yank the
- KH> brick and leave the mini power plug in the Zip's side.
-
- KH> I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is so. To the non-guru it
- KH> makes no sense at all. Anyone out there have an explanation, or better ye
- KH> solution to the problem?
-
- I know this is not any help, but my A2386SX BridgeBoard works fine with my ZIP
- drive pluged in. So, I would think it is not a problem with the ZIP drive.
